River Oak Center for Children: Family Support Services

Parenting classes and caregiver support groups are critical to keeping children and teens at
home with their families or, when this is not possible, with a stable foster family. Parenting
classes provide the training families need to learn effective ways to handle potentially difficult
situations and common problems. At the same time, caregiver support groups are vital in
helping to relieve the stress and sense of isolation that often affect parents, grandparents, and
other family members raising a child with emotional and behavioral issues.

Currently, River Oak provides the following parenting classes, caregiver support groups,
activities, and services to our families:
