River Oak has a strong belief in the value of tangible results to inform and improve the quality of clinical care for our children and families. Agency-wide program evaluation, which includes assessment of client and family functioning and client and caregiver satisfaction with the programs, is conducted by the Quality and Management Division at River Oak.

Behavioral measurements are collected on all clients receiving services in order to assess competencies and needs. Given the importance of collecting this information from multiple respondents, results are gathered from three measures utilized by Sacramento County providers for assessing children’s behavioral problems. These include the Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL), The Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS), and the Youth Self Report (YSR). Aggregate results from these meaures will be posted and updated on this web page in Outcomes.

An agency specific satisfaction survey was also created in an attempt to provide a meaningful assessment of how satisfied caregivers are with services throughout the agency. The Quality and Management Division reviewed existing satisfaction measures, as well as utilized feedback from program supervisors and family advocates, in order to write applicable questions. The survey asks parents/caregivers to comment on various issues such as whether services were timely, effective, and whether they would recommend River Oak to others. Results are collected from parents/caregivers during a two-week period every six months, and the results will be posted and updated here as well.

The Joint Comission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations is an independent, not for profit national body that oversees the safety and quality of health care and other services provided in accredited organizations. River Oak is proud to be accredited for 2003-2006 year.
