River Oak Center for Children: Books for Children Ages 1-18

The importance of reading to children from a very young age has been well documented
in promoting child development, family bonding, and future educational success in
school. Reading at an early age also promotes a life-long love of reading.

Throughout a child's development, books help children of all ages learn about life and
the world around them. Books also take them to fanciful places that provide a
temporary escape from the harsh realities of the real world.
