All around us we see signs of Spring. The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer, and trees and flowers are blooming.

In anticipation of the season of growth, rebirth, and new possibilities, River Oak has launched "Spring for Kids," a fresh way to participate in the ongoing work of nurturing our community's children.

For the last 15 years, the arrival of Spring meant that our most important fundraiser of the year, the Annual Children's Spring Ball, was just around the corner. The Spring Ball had been a major source of funding for River Oak programs and services that are not covered under our government contracts, but are essential to making the growth and "blossoming" of our children and teens possible.

Responding to the changing economic times in the Greater Sacramento area, River Oak has decided not to hold the Spring Ball in 2010. While the Spring Ball will not occur this year, the need for this funding is just as great, as the demand for family support grows while government budgets continue to shrink.

So, in place of the Spring Ball, "Spring for Kids" is our new effort to raise funds that will help improve the lives of children and families who need our help. "Spring for Kids" is based on the belief that each child holds the promise for a happy and healthy life as long as he or she is loved and nurtured. At River Oak, our goal is to help families resolve the challenging issues in their lives so that they can stay together safely. With your donation, you will help to plant seeds of hope that will help River Oak children and teens flourish and lead happy and healthy lives.

Please help make a difference in a child's life by making a donation to "Spring for Kids" today!
