As
we did in 2003 and in 2006, River Oak is proud to have once again
earned the distinguished honor of the Golden Seal of Approval and accreditation from the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. River Oak remains one of the very few, if not the only, non-profit organizations not associated with a large hospital system to have been bestowed such recognition for our commitment to safety and quality of services we provide. Being accredited by the Joint Commission is not only an honor but a huge responsibility. Since quality improvement is a continuous process, we monitor compliance with Joint Commission’s standards in every program and service we provide and in every activity we initiate. Our efforts continue to pay off. When we received a visit in September 2009 by a Joint Commission surveyor possessing in-depth knowledge of the type of operations run by River Oak, we were delighted and proud to have once again passed the rigorous four-day test. Accreditation by the Joint Commission is not a mandatory hurdle River Oak needs to overcome; it is a challenge we voluntarily choose in order to be sure that our children and teens get the best quality of service possible. It is part of the drive that has pushed River Oak to the forefront of child-serving organizations in the Sacramento area. |
