Helping
Hand Fund |
River
Oak's Helping Hand Fund was established on the principle that no child
within River Oak's system of care should lack basic essentials in life. Families receiving River Oak services rely on the fund for purposes as simple as purchasing clothing for a child, or for help in meeting even more basic but critical needs such as food, rent, heat, or electricity. All of the families the Helping Hand Fund supports live in the Greater Sacramento area and are low-income; many of the parents are single mothers. One hundred percent of funds raised for the Helping Hand Fund is directed towards providing essential and emergency resources to children and families in need. Examples of items needed: |
•
Hygiene products such as bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion,
and baby care items (new items only, please) • New bedding (fitted and flat sheets, blankets, pillows and pillowcases) • New cookware (pots and pans, plates, glasses, mugs, silverware) • Diapers • Formula • Other (new) household items (kitchen appliances, curtains, shower curtains and bath mats, etc.) • Financial contributions also accepted to help families pay rent, utilities, security deposits, etc. during emergency situations |
